Where are you getting fed?

Last night around 2:30am this thought from Jesus was swirling around in my brain (Wilbur woke me up at 2:20am....thanks buddy).... "Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 If what Jesus says is true (which I fully believe is true), then why do I (and many Christians I know) live at times unsatisfied/hungry/thirsty? About 2:40am I realized, I am most hungry/unsatisfied/thirsty when I am investing in all kinds of other things rather than "feasting on the bread of life."

What keeps me hungry? - I worry instead of pray - I listen to my own internal logic instead of applying God's word. - I hide my sin, instead of confess it openly to receive forgiveness - I seek consolation with food/drink/internet instead of quiet time with God. - I covet what I don't have, instead of giving thanks for what I do have - I think it's up to me instead of trusting it's all in God's hands How do I live satisfied? - I pray throughout the day, frustrating moments become God moments. - I put God's word into action (usually involves loving others). - I am totally honest with God and others about sin and find grace - I place my time with God as a first priority - I give thanks - real thanks even for small things. - I "let go and let God" as I take steps toward solutions Today, I plan to live satisfied as I feast on the Bread of Life which is Jesus. Would love for you to join me.
